Victoria Square Schoolhouse provides a healthy daily lunch and 2 snacks to all of our children who are enrolled in the full day program. Children who attend half day sessions receive a daily snack.

Our meals are prepared on-site by our cook, who is Certified in Food Handling and attends periodical trainings from York Region Health Centre.
Our food plan rotates on a weekly basis. There are 2 menus: one covering the spring and summer period and the other covering fall and winter. The Infant Program has their own menu schedule.
We do not cook raw meat or fish on the premises so as to minimize the risk of bacterial infection in the food that we serve.
We serve only pure apple juice or fruit juice to our pre-schoolers.
Our fish sticks are low in sodium content, chicken nuggets are made from white meat, rotisserie chicken is used for stir fry.
Our rice meals are made of brown rice mixed with a variety of beans and peas.
Our cakes are home-made; ingredients and sugar contents are controlled.
Milk served is 2%.
